We all know we need to spend more quality time with our family and friends, but everyone is so busy! Marie Curie FamFest 2018 brings together local families for a day of meaningful challenges and activities to help the community make the most of their time with their families. Through participating in FamFest, guests will learn more about each other, spend quality time together and have a fun experience with their loved ones.
The money raised through FamFest 2018 shall go towards the charity Marie Curie, which helps those who are terminally ill and their families make the most of the time they have left together through providing care and support.
Join us on Saturday 10th March 2018 at Airyhall Community Centre from 11:00am to 4:00pm for a day of quality challenges and activities. FamFest is all about spending time with your family. The event will feature inflatable challenges, team games, craft activities, clothing and gift stalls, a family escape room, a family photo booth, a raffle, live music, fundraising activities, and more! Retro Disco on Ice - Friday 9th February 2018
With only a month to go before our event, we hosted our Retro Disco on Ice fundraiser on Friday 9th February at Linx Ice Arena. The event featured a throwback quiz and ice disco to raise funds for the event. The event sold out, with the quiz full to the edges. We are delighted to have raised £394 at the event for Marie Curie and raised awareness of FamFest.
Marie Curie's 150th Birthday - Thursday 2nd November 2017
As part of the celebrations for the scientist Marie Curie's 150th Birthday, the FamFest team officially launched the event and organised fundraising activities in the Aberdeen Business School Building. The group held a smoothie bike stand, raising funds and awareness for the project with games, music and fresh fruit drinks. The fundraiser raised over £230 for the event, and marks the official launch of FamFest 2018.
In addition to the fundraising, the group have also illuminated the Sir Ian Wood Building, at Robert Gordon University in yellow to represent the charity Marie Curie, and celebrate the 150th birthday of the Nobel Prize winning scientist Marie Curie. Photographers from the local press were in attendance to cover the activities, as part of the official launch of the event.
Bag Pack - Saturday 4th November 2017
We've been out and about in bright yellow raising funds for the project. Our organisers and volunteers were out in M&S at Union Square in Aberdeen doing a bag pack to raise funds. We are delighted to have made over £450 for the project! Thanks to the generous public who supported us!
